Van Halen é o primeiro álbum da banda Van Halen, que foi gravado em 1977 e lançado em 10 de fevereiro de 1978.

Este álbum é considerado um dos melhores e mais famosos álbuns de hard rock e heavy metal, ele chegou até a ser comparado com alguns álbuns do Led Zeppelin.

Por sua grande habilidade com a guitarra, Eddie Van Halen foi comparado com Jimi Hendrix e popularizou a técnica de Tapping, visível no famoso solo Eruption, que influenciou milhares e milhares de guitarristas.
